Create Survival Minecraft Servers

Survival servers built around Create: build your factories and train networks with a community.

What is a Create Survival server?

A Create Survival server adds the Create mod (and often a few extensions like Create Steam ’n’ Rails) to a regular multiplayer survival world: no forced quest progression, no locked recipes. You mine, you build your base, and the mod gives you the tools to turn it into an industrial town — automated farms, a central train station, rail lines running between player bases.

It’s the ideal way to learn Create with other people around: veterans share their machine designs, and every base tour turns into a live engineering lesson.

What to check before joining

Start with build protection: a moving contraption crossing a neighbor’s plot can do real damage, and good servers have clear rules for it (land claims, dedicated industrial zones). Then ask how often the map resets — building a rail network takes weeks, and a server that wipes every two months isn’t the place for it. Finally, the quality-of-life mod list (minimap, backpacks, recipe viewers like JEI or EMI) makes a genuine difference in daily play.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from a modpack server like Astral or Above and Beyond?

Freedom. On a Create Survival server nothing is locked: you use the mod however and whenever you want. Modpacks impose a chapter or quest progression — more guided, but more restrictive.

Which Minecraft version should I look for?

Most active Create survival servers run 1.20.1 and, since Create 6, 1.21.1 — both with a very rich add-on ecosystem (trains, decoration, extra gearworks). 1.18.2 is still common for older packs.

Can contraptions be used for griefing?

Technically yes — a mobile drill just wants to move forward. That’s exactly why serious servers combine land protection with explicit rules about moving machines. Read the rules before you settle in.

I’m a complete Create beginner — is that a problem?

Not at all — it’s actually the best place to learn. The community has a reputation for being welcoming, and the mod ships with in-game guides for every machine. Start with a windmill and a mechanical saw; the rest will follow.
