What is an All The Mods server?

An All The Mods server runs one of the packs from the All The Mods series (ATM 9 on 1.20.1, ATM 10 on 1.21) — the archetypal kitchen sink modpack: 400+ mods with no imposed theme. Tech with Mekanism and Thermal, magic with Ars Nouveau and Occultism, exploration, dungeons, cooking… everyone carves their own path. For those who want a north star: crafting the ATM Star, an endgame item that demands mastery of nearly every production chain in the pack.

On a server, that freedom breeds natural economies: the Mekanism specialist sells components to the mage who supplies their essences. Player bases become permanent showcases of everything modding can do.

Joining an ATM server without surprises

A pack this size is unforgiving: budget 8 GB of allocated client RAM (the CurseForge launcher sets that by default), expect a long first load, and pick a server with a real anti-lag policy — reasonable restrictions on chunk loaders and giant farms. Also check the pack version (ATM updates frequently and the server needs to keep up) and whether mining dimensions get periodic resets — a healthy practice that regenerates resources without touching anyone’s base.

Frequently asked questions

ATM 9 or ATM 10 — which should I join?

ATM 10 (1.21, NeoForge) has become the reference pack: the most played in 2026, around 500 mods, with its ATM Star and full endgame in place. ATM 9 (1.20.1) is still very active, especially for mods that haven’t migrated to 1.21. For a first server today: ATM 10.

What exactly is the ATM Star?

The pack’s ultimate goal: an item whose recipe pulls in components from nearly every major mod. Crafting it takes dozens of hours of automation — it’s the final boss for tech players, and a great team project on a server.

Can my 8 GB RAM PC run ATM?

It’s tight: 8 GB of total RAM leaves roughly 5 to 6 GB allocatable to the game, the bare minimum for ATM. It runs if you lower render distance, but 16 GB of total RAM is a whole different level of comfort.

Where do I even start in a pack this huge?

Follow the built-in quest book: it introduces every major mod chapter by chapter. The classic opening: a storage mod (Refined Storage or AE2) plus a simple power source, then explore whatever pulls you. And ask on the server’s Discord — ATM players love giving advice.
